Looking for Advice on CPU and Motherboard for My New RTX 4070 Super Ti

Hey everyone! I've built a few PCs over the years, but mine is feeling pretty outdated since it's from 2017. I just upgraded to an RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB Eagle GPU and swapped out my power supply for a Corsair RM1000e. Now I'm looking to replace most of the rest of my setup. I'm leaning towards an AMD build with this configuration: Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, MSI AM5 Mag B850 Tomahawk Max Wifi motherboard, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 64GB RAM (2 x 32 GB), and a MAG Coreliquid E360 cooler. Does this sound like a solid plan? I'd like to keep my current case and fans since they've been working fine for years. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated, especially since I'm still learning!

It really depends on your needs! Since you mentioned World of Warcraft, the Ryzen 7 you picked will handle that just fine. WoW isn't too demanding, so you won’t need anything too extreme. Just make sure to also check that your cooler is compatible and can handle the heat during long gaming sessions!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll double-check the cooler compatibility before finalizing everything.

For your setup, if you're primarily gaming casually at 4K, I think the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a great choice. It's got solid performance for gaming, and paired with the RTX 4070 Ti Super, you should have a nice experience without bottlenecking. If you ever decide to upgrade your usage to something more intensive, like content creation, those higher-end CPUs like the 9800X3D or 9950X3D would shine, but they might be overkill for just gaming.

That's good to know! I think I'll stick with the 7800X3D for now since gaming is my main focus.
