Hey everyone! I'm moving from console to PC gaming and I want to build a rig that can handle 1440p gaming with max fps, especially for FPS games. I'm also planning to use it for basic office tasks. My budget is around €1500 for the entire tower, not including peripherals. I've been researching and have put together the following components:
- GPU: RX 9070 XT XFX
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Motherboard: MSI B650 WiFi
- PSU: ASUS 850W
- Cooling: Liquid Cooling (Article Liquid Freeze 3)
- SSD: 1TB Crucial P3 Gen 4
- RAM: 2x16GB DDR5
- Case: Foifkin F600
Would love your input on whether these choices are solid, and if there are any ways to improve this build without going over budget. Thanks in advance!

You're aiming for a high-end 1440p rig, and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RX 9070 XT should give you solid performance. You might find it challenging to stick strictly to the €1500 budget with those. If the RX 9070 is a little more expensive than the 5070, it’s probably worth it for better performance. But if you’re looking to save, maybe consider the Ryzen 5 7600; it’ll handle 1440p well too!
You're spot on about the RX 9070 and 5070 price difference; I’d stick with the 9070 if you can swing it!
Your build looks good overall, but I’d suggest considering a 2TB SSD instead. Games are getting larger, and having more space will definitely help. You might not need the liquid cooling; an air cooler like the Arctic Freezer 280 is a fantastic option. Also, brands like Western Digital often have reliable drives, so check out their options too!
Totally agree! A 2TB SSD is almost a must these days with game sizes. I just put a Peerless Assassin cooler in my build for around $37—it’s been great!
Yeah, I think a good air cooler is the way to go if you're open to it. Plus, the 2TB SSD won’t break the bank too much!
Is the Ryzen 7 really necessary then? I was thinking about cutting costs here—any suggestions for a balanced setup?
