My son just got his first PC, which is also my first PC running Windows 10—I've always used Windows 7 without issues. He created his own profile as an 'over 18' user, and everything was fine until we tried to install some software. The PC is asking for admin login to proceed, and I can't seem to figure out how to grant his account admin rights. I tried several methods without success and attached a screenshot of the error. Can anyone help me with this? I'm feeling a bit lost since I'm not used to Windows 10!

First, check where the PC came from. Go to the C:Users directory on your C drive; one of those accounts is likely the admin account. Usually, the first account created should have admin rights by default. However, if this is a refurbished PC, there might be other parental controls from Microsoft’s cloud services affecting it. Did you help set it up initially? That can be key!
Thanks for the pointers! I got the PC refurbished from eBay and first set up my son's child account, but ended up creating another one because the restrictions were too tight. I thought I deleted the original, but maybe I didn't. I’ll look into that. Thanks!
