Hey everyone! I'm getting back into Linux after quite a few years and I want to try it on my old Dell Inspiron 1525 notebook. It's got an Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 160 GB hard drive. Currently, it's running Windows 7 pretty well, but I'd love to explore Linux without upgrading the hardware. I've used distros like Debian, Musix GNU, Knoppix, and Ubuntu in the past but I'd appreciate your recommendations for what might work best on this machine today. I've heard Linux Mint is a decent option, but I'm open to other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

If you're familiar with Debian, I'd suggest going back to it but try the LXQt version for a more lightweight experience. It's proven to run well on older hardware! But if that's too outdated for you, Lubuntu is another great choice as it has a similar desktop environment and is more updated. For something a bit more current, consider trying Fedora LXQt, although it might require a bit more effort to manage proprietary software.
