How can I bulk restore disabled mailboxes in Exchange?

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind and could really use your help. I'm not an expert in Exchange, and our previous contractor who handled that left in July, so I'm doing my best to manage this issue. Here's the situation: We usually use AD Manager to disable inactive users, which just flags them, but recently a change in the modify user template started disabling mailboxes too. Now, about 150 users have had their mailboxes disabled. The challenge I'm facing is that I can see the disabled accounts in the EAC, but I can't connect to them—they seem to be completely invisible in Exchange. I'm currently using PowerShell to connect the mailboxes back to their users, but since we have multiple databases, that process is really tedious, and I have to enable and disable accounts multiple times. Does anyone have a more efficient method to restore these mailboxes in bulk? It feels like it's going to take forever to fix each account individually!

Just a thought—are you moving the accounts to a different Organizational Unit (OU) like Disabled Users? If they aren't synced correctly, Exchange might not recognize them. By the way, is it an on-prem Exchange setup?

Yeah, it's an on-prem Exchange 2019. The users just got soft disabled, but you're right, they should be showing up as disconnected in EAC.

Ugh, sounds like a real hassle! Restoring mailboxes one by one can be a pain, especially if no one on your team is familiar with Exchange. Sounds like you're doing your best under pressure!
