Is There a VPN That Won’t Show Up on My Router?

I've got a bit of a difficult situation at home. A family member is having a manic episode and is super focused on monitoring everyone's internet usage. I tried using Cloudflare's Warp (1.1.1.1), which usually works well, but it showed up on our router and caused a major freakout. I'm wondering if there's a VPN out there that won't change anything on the router or if there's a way to set one up without drawing attention. Are there any alternatives I should consider?

Just to clarify, Cloudflare Warp isn’t actually a full VPN. If you use a proper VPN and set it to its own DNS servers, then your router will just see you're connected to a random server. It's still possible your family member might catch on if you're consistently connected to the same few servers. To mitigate that, you could switch VPN servers regularly to reduce the log records from staying on one too long.

Any recommendations for VPNs I can use on my phone that also have their own DNS servers? I switched mine to Google's DNS, but I'd like to consider other options.

When you're using a VPN, your router only sees the IP of the VPN server you’re connected to, not all the different sites you visit. Unfortunately, if your router logs connections, it’ll show just the VPN server's IP when you connect. The only way to avoid detection is through split-tunneling, but that might not be simple in your case.
