I rarely have to deal with this, but I've been asked to perform an eDiscovery on a set of Teams 1:N chats from a user. It's straightforward enough, but I end up with a ton of MSG files or a PST file, which isn't exactly user-friendly for viewing in Outlook. Is there a better way to convert this data into a more readable format? I know I can export to a CSV using Outlook, but I'm not really keen on building a "CSV to Teams viewer" app, especially since that's beyond my current skill level. Also, I don't have an eDiscovery Premium license, which I know would simplify this process.

Honestly, I like to make it tough for the requester when it involves these kinds of tasks. Most of the time, it's just a management issue they want solved with IT's help. So, I usually have them open each .eml file themselves. Mwahahaha!
I usually use XstReader for situations like this. It helps sort through those PST files a bit better. It might not do exactly what you need, but it's a handy tool to know about!
Not sure if it'll work for my situation, but thanks for the tip! Always good to learn about new tools.
If only they exported as .eml files! eDiscovery still deals in MSG, which has been such a headache for me lately. But I get you, sometimes the best plan is to just pass the data onto them. Too bad this request is coming from the managing director!
