Can I Change My 128GB Micro SD Card Back to FAT32 without Losing Space?

I recently got a 128GB micro SD card and formatted it to FAT32. Now, my PC only recognizes about 32GB of space. Did I just waste my money thinking I could use the full capacity, or is there a way to fix this? I formatted it using the command prompt; does that make a difference?

The reason you're seeing just 32GB is that FAT32 has a limit on individual file sizes and the way it allocates space. Instead of FAT32, you might want to format the card to exFAT, which supports larger capacity storage. Just plug the SD card into your computer, right-click on it, choose 'Format', and select exFAT from the file system options. It's much easier than using the command prompt!

Thanks for the tips! I was formatting it for my 2DS XL and thought it needed to stay FAT32. Good to know I can use exFAT for more space.

I appreciate the advice! I wasn't sure how the formatting worked, so this helps a lot!
