Need Help With GPU Upgrade – No Display and VGA Light

I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 1650 to a 3060, but I'm having some serious issues. When I power it on, I get no display and my motherboard shows a VGA light. I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps, like resetting the CMOS, updating the BIOS, and unplugging all the PCI-E and display ports, but nothing seems to work. I'm really at a loss here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Check if your motherboard is posting without the graphics card. If it does, then you know the card might be the issue. It could be worth checking for updates or resetting drivers, too.

First off, make sure your PSU is powerful enough to run the 3060. A 600W should usually be fine, but double-check that all the cables are connected properly to the GPU. Also, look for any lights or sounds coming from the GPU itself; it might give us a clue if it's working or not. Hope this helps!

I’ve checked, and my PSU is 600W and all cables are plugged in. The fans on the GPU are spinning, but that’s all that’s happening.

You mentioned that you unplugged and reseated the GPU. Just to confirm, do you have proof that the GPU was working before? Did you buy it second-hand? Sometimes it's worth checking if you got a dud. Also, a VGA light suggests that the GPU isn't communicating with the motherboard.

Yeah, I bought it second-hand, and it was claimed to be working, though I don’t have proof of that. I'm starting to think I may have been scammed.

Make sure you’ve plugged your HDMI or VGA cable directly into the 3060, not the motherboard. If you're still having issues, try connecting the monitor to the motherboard to see if it works without the graphics card. That way, we can narrow down the problem.

I’ve tried connecting the monitor to the GPU through every HDMI and DisplayPort available, but I haven't tried the motherboard yet.

Have you used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to clean out the old drivers? It might help clear any conflicts. Also, remember that the monitor cable should be connected to the GPU and not the motherboard. Just making sure!
