Is 49 too late to start a career in software engineering through a coding boot camp?

I'm 49 years old and have no coding experience, but I'm really interested in becoming a software engineer. I've recently discovered a passion for tech and programming, and even bought several books on learning JavaScript. Is it feasible for someone my age to attend a coding boot camp and successfully transition into this field? Or am I better off considering it just a hobby? What are the chances of finding a job in tech at my age?

It's definitely not too late to switch careers! I’m 47 and working on my bachelor’s in computer science. Even with no prior experience, if this is something you really want to do, I say go for it! Boot camps can offer a good starting point, but it's crucial to keep your expectations realistic.

Do you think I could break into tech without a degree? I'm worried that I might be at a disadvantage.
