Is Fortnite More CPU or GPU Intensive at 1440p on Low Settings?

I'm building my first PC and want to make sure I get the right components without breaking the bank. I have a 1440p 180hz monitor, and I'm mostly playing Fortnite and Rainbow Six Siege on performance settings. Should I choose the AMD 7800X3D with a 9070 non-XT graphics card, or go for the 7600X with a better GPU like the 5070?

The 9070 non-XT outperforms the 5070 easily. It's the better choice for your build!

When playing Fortnite, the game tends to lean more towards being CPU intensive, especially at competitive settings. Keeping that in mind, the 7800X3D paired with the 9070 is a solid combo. Just so you know, the 9070 shouldn't lag behind the 5070 much, if at all. Don't worry too much about the GPU differences; focus on getting the CPU that fits your needs!

I tried ray tracing in Fortnite, and I really don't think it's worth it. Just stick to performance settings!

Totally agree! There are some games where ray tracing makes a big difference, but Fortnite isn’t one of them.

The 9070 is about 10% stronger than the 5070, so I’d definitely go for the 7800X3D. It will serve you well in Fortnite!
