I'm trying to upgrade my old PC and need some advice. My motherboard only officially supports up to 2133 MHz RAM, and I currently have two 8GB sticks (originally 2400 MHz) running at that speed. I found a great deal on 3200 MHz RAM sticks and was thinking about adding two of them to fill all four slots, which would bump my total RAM from 16GB to 48GB. Since the new sticks are from a different brand and generation, I'm a bit worried about compatibility and stability. Is it okay to mix these RAM sticks, even though I know they'll all run at 2133 MHz? I'm curious if this setup is viable or if it will lead to issues, especially since I've never mixed brands before.

It might work, but usually mixing RAM capacities, speeds, and brands isn't the best idea. You're mixing all three here, which might lead to stability issues. Do you really need 48GB of RAM?
Adding the extra RAM should not be a problem since they'll all operate at the lowest speed, which is 2133 MTs. Just keep an eye on the overall performance after installing them.
They should work fine! Just curious, what motherboard chipset are you using? If your board supports XMP, you might be able to enable that and run the higher speed RAM if you ever want to upgrade.
That's good to know! My motherboard is an ASUS Z170M-PLUS/BR, which has 4 RAM slots. So I'd love to utilize them if that's possible!
