I've got a bit of a dilemma here. My current setup includes an i7-8700 CPU, a GTX 1070 GPU, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM, with a 1080p 60hz monitor. I recently managed to buy a 5080 Founders Edition directly from NVIDIA at MSRP, but now I'm second-guessing my decision. There's talk of a 5080 Super coming out, which might have better performance and VRAM but I'm not sure if I should keep the 5080 or cancel my order. Does anyone have insights on the potential pricing of the 5080 Super and whether it's worth the wait?

Honestly, these leaks about the 5080 Super sound a bit sketchy. I wouldn't get too caught up in that. Just go with what you have and enjoy it when it arrives!
In my opinion, go for the 5070 Ti instead. The 5080 has enough VRAM, and the supposed Super version might be overkill. Save some cash and maybe grab a used 40 series card, then you can always upgrade to the 60 series later. Plus, the 5080 is already a significant upgrade from the 1070!
Just relax and keep the 5080. There will always be newer models coming out every few months, and nothing will ever be cutting-edge for long. Enjoy your upgrade and don’t sweat the next release!
Last time I checked, the 4080 and 4080 Super were very similar, so who knows how the 5080 and Super will stack up. Just buy the 5080 and enjoy it, don't overthink it.
Honestly, no one can predict if the 5080 Super is even coming out or when it would be available. It's a total gamble right now, so if you really need an upgrade and the 5080 is an option, keeping it might be the better choice.
Just wait for the next big thing, like the 6080!
Why even bother with an RTX 5080 for a 1080p setup? If you're looking for a good value, consider going for the 5070 Ti or an RX 9070XT instead. You could even check the used market for a 4070 or 4070 Ti, which would save you some cash for a monitor upgrade too!
Exactly! If you're upgrading the GPU, you might as well boost your monitor to 1440p for a better experience.
Of course, I plan to upgrade my monitor too! Just weighing my options here.
You should definitely keep it. Sure, the 5080 Super might be nicer, but the initial stock won't last long. Do you want an upgrade now or risk missing out on the Super? Either way, you can't go wrong, but if you can hold on to your 1070 for a bit longer, maybe that’s a solid choice too!
Totally agree with you, getting something used would be smart!
