Hey everyone! I'm trying to pick the best CPU to complement my new RTX 5070 and I have 32GB of DDR5 6000MHz RAM. I'm aiming to stream in 1440p, but my budget is a bit tight. I want to ensure that I can really maximize the GPU's performance. Any recommendations? Thanks a lot!

If you’re going for over $300 on a CPU like the 7800X3D, you might want to reconsider. It could be smarter to go for a less expensive CPU and instead aim for an upgrade like the 5070 Ti or even a 9070 XT.

The Ryzen 5 9600X is a solid budget-friendly choice on AM5. It performs well for 1440p gaming and is easy to keep cool. It’s almost on par with the 9700X for productivity tasks like video editing. The encoding process is mostly handled by the GPU for streaming, so it shouldn't be a huge concern. If you’re okay spending a bit more, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D could give you a performance boost, especially in 1% lows.

Without knowing your specific budget, the "best" CPU could easily be the 9800X3D. But for a better fit with your needs, I’d still recommend the 9600X.

I usually recommend the 7700 or 7700X. They sit nicely between the lower-end AM5 CPUs and higher-end options, providing good performance without breaking the bank.
