What’s the Deal with Different Tiling Window Managers?

I'm trying to wrap my head around the various tiling window managers out there, like i3, Sway, Hyprland, bspwm, and AwesomeWM. They seem to have a lot in common, especially when I see screenshots of i3 and Hyprland, and I can't really spot any differences aside from their configuration files. Can anyone break down the main differences for me?

The differences mostly come down to how their configuration files are set up and whether they're running on Xorg or Wayland. For example, Sway is basically i3 designed to run on Wayland instead of Xorg, so they're quite similar in a lot of ways!

I recently tried out Hyprland for a couple weeks and found its config files super easy to read. Do the others have similar user-friendly setups?
