Help! My PC Can’t Detect My GPU After a Power Cord Bump

I was just sitting at my desk when I accidentally nudged my power cord. The screen went black, and when I turned my PC back on, it's acting like I don't have a GPU. I'm seeing a messed-up refresh rate, and it doesn't even show in Task Manager. Everything else seems fine though, but I'm really confused about what happened!

It sounds like your GPU might have lost its power connection when you bumped the cord. Your PC could possibly be switching to integrated graphics instead. Try shutting it down, reseating the GPU and all related cables. Also, check your BIOS settings and drivers. If that doesn’t work, you might want to test the GPU in another system to see if it’s actually dead.

Glad to hear you might have fixed it by reinstalling your drivers! Sometimes that’s all it takes. If you run into issues again though, consider checking those connections like they mentioned.

Just a heads up, it's generally not the best idea to plug your PC into a power strip. I know a lot of people do it, but a surge protector is usually a better choice.
