Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my GPU from a 2070 Super to a 9070 XT, and now I can really enjoy my 1440p ultrawide monitor without sacrificing settings or FPS. I'm thinking of building a budget 1080p gaming PC for my girlfriend and plan to repurpose my R5 5600X, motherboard, RAM, and older GPU for her system. Although the 5600X still performs well, I've noticed it bottlenecks during some games.
So, I'm looking for recommendations for a good value CPU for 2025 to upgrade from my 5600X. Should I consider the 9600X, 7600X3D, or something Intel? I'm primarily a single-player gamer with occasional CS2, so I need something versatile but not too expensive. Ideally, I'd like something comparable to the 5600X just updated for current standards. Thanks!

For single-player gaming, the 7500F will do just fine. Other good options include the 7600, 7600X, and 9600X. You really can’t go wrong with any of those, so just pick based on your budget and availability.
I’m in Europe, so big stores like Micro Center aren’t really an option for me. Prices for CPUs here are about 190€ for a 9600X, 165€ for a 7600X, and 280€ for the 7600X3D. Does that help narrow it down?
