Hey everyone! I'm an avid PC gamer from the Philippines and I've noticed my electricity bill has jumped to an alarming 6,000 Php. I'm hoping you all can help me understand why and how to reduce it. Here are my PC specs:
- Ryzen 5 5600G with stock cooler
- Gigabyte RX 6600
- 32GB Kingston DDR4 3200MHz RAM
- AsRock B450m Steel Legend motherboard
- 1TB Kingston NVME SSD
- Corsair CX750 Watts 80+ Bronze PSU
For peripherals, I have a 75Hz 1080p monitor, a Razer mouse, a ReDragon keyboard, an old headset, and case fans. I mostly play games like Valorant, Mecha Break, and Roblox, and I also have background tasks like Google Chrome (with a couple of tabs) and a Discord voice chat.
I typically use my PC for about 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday, and I don't use it on weekends. I'm looking for tips to lower my bill, considering I'm planning to limit my gaming to just 1-2 hours a day. Any advice?

Limiting your gaming hours is a smart move! Also, consider enabling power-saving mode, lowering your screen brightness, and completely shutting down your PC when you're done to save energy. Even small lifestyle changes can make a noticeable difference in your bill.
It's probably not just about your PC usage. You might want to keep track of how much power your PC actually uses, potentially with a tool like a Kill A Watt meter. Moreover, even if you think gaming's the issue, your actual electric consumption could be fine. Just keep an eye on your overall usage and check your bill for the unit costs.
My PSU indicates it's running on 750 watts consistently through AMD Adrenaline monitoring.
I unplug my PC every time I use it. Do you think I should also look into undervolting my GPU? My motherboard is a little damaged, so I'm unsure.
