Hey everyone! I'm currently in the process of upgrading my PC's power supply. I previously had an old Chieftec GPX-750FC 750W PSU, but now I've bought a Phanteks AMP GH 1200W 80+ Platinum PSU because I need more power. I've swapped all the cables for the new one, but I noticed my old PSU has a SATA cable connected to my Corsair iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT. The SATA cables from my new PSU don't match the old one. Is it safe to use the SATA cable from the old PSU on the new one? I've tried looking for answers but it's a bit overwhelming. Thanks!

Do not use the old SATA cable at all. It's risky! The new PSU should definitely have compatible SATA cables; make sure you check them all. If one doesn’t fit, try another. It's worth double-checking before plugging anything in!
SATA cables are pretty standard in design, but just because they look similar doesn't mean they'll work with your new PSU. If your new PSU came with multiple SATA cables, I suggest trying one of those instead. Your old cable might not fit properly, especially if it has a unique connector. Avoid using the old one altogether for peace of mind!
It's generally not safe to mix and match SATA cables from different PSUs. You could risk damaging your components if the pinouts are different. Most of the time, SATA connectors are standardized, but it's best to use the cables that come with your new PSU to avoid any issues. Trust me, you don't want to fry your hardware by using the wrong cable.
