I'm building a new system with a Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7 motherboard and a 9900X processor. I'm looking for the right RAM to pair with it and I prefer to go with 48GB from G.Skill. I found the G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 48GB kit (DDR5-6400, CL32-39-39-102), but it's not listed on the compatibility list on the Gigabyte website. However, G.Skill says it's compatible. Is this RAM suitable for my setup?

Just a heads up, I have the X870E version and I’d recommend looking for slightly slower RAM. For the AM5 platform, anything above 6000 MT/s can be tricky. If you can swing it, consider getting a 64GB kit instead of 48GB; here are some options that are affordable and should work well with your motherboard:
- [G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qXkH99/gskill-trident-z5-rgb-64-gb-2-x-32-gb-ddr5-6000-cl36-memory-f5-6000j3636f32gx2-tz5rk) for $159.99
- [G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DP7scf/gskill-trident-z5-neo-rgb-64-gb-2-x-32-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-f5-6000j3036g32gx2-tz5nrw) for $249.99
- [G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal Neo RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/NfPv6h/gskill-trident-z5-royal-neo-rgb-64-gb-2-x-32-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-f5-6000j3036g32gx2-tr5ns) for $259.99
You'll notice that CL30 is a bit faster, but CL36 performs similarly. Plus, 64GB will keep you future-proof for a while. Hope that helps!
Yeah, that RAM will work fine! The 9900X should handle 6400 MT/s without a hitch if you're using two sticks. Just keep in mind that compatibility lists only show tested combinations, so they're often missing a lot.
I see your point, but some people argue that the sweet spot is between 6000 and 6400. Currently, 64GB is pretty pricey, so for budget-friendly builds, 48GB is the way to go for decent dual channel performance.
