Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my PC, focusing on most components except the GPU, which was a surprise gift from my wife. I have a Gigabyte GP-UD750GM-A PSU that doesn't come with a 12VHPWR connector, so I'm using the adapter included with my RTX 5070. I've seen some reports of these adapters melting, and while I don't want to replace my PSU right now, I'm concerned. Would the Corsair 12VHPWR cable work with my PSU, or is it only compatible with Corsair's own PSUs? Should I really be worried about the melting issue? What are my best options moving forward? Should I be saving for a new PSU? Thanks!

That Corsair cable won't work with your PSU. The adapter you’re using is okay; just make sure it's well connected. The melting issue mainly affects higher-end GPUs, so your 5070 should be safe.
The melting concerns mainly involve the RTX 5090 and 5080 models, so I don’t think you need to stress about it with your 5070. Just ensure the adapter is connected properly, and you should be fine!
Thanks a lot for that! Switching from a 1050 Ti to a 5070 has been a game-changer.
Be aware that power supply cables aren't universally compatible, not even within the same brand. Stick with the extension that came with the GPU—it’s the safest bet for now!
Thanks a lot for the advice!
Thanks for clarifying that!
