Struggling with Font Scaling on ParrotOS – Any Tips?

I've been using Linux Mint for a while, but recently switched one of my PCs to Parrot OS. I've tried everything to adjust the font sizes, including changing individual font sizes, adjusting text scaling, and even fiddling with the display scaling settings between 100% and 125%. Most fonts are okay now, but the time display and menu fonts are still too small. Plus, when I use btop, it says my terminal is too small, even when I'm in full-screen mode. I've even consulted ChatGPT for help with installation and configuration, including the Gnome terminal, but I'm still struggling. Am I overlooking something obvious? I'm using a T480, and I want my screen to look good without being over-sized. Thanks in advance for any help!

Just to clarify, it seems like there's a mix-up between font scaling and full display scaling. On X11, font scaling should work just fine if you set the Xft.dpi value in your .Xresources file. However, if you’ve switched to Wayland, it’s a bit trickier since it generally doesn't support separate font scaling. You either have the entire display scaled or you set larger fonts for specific toolkits. ParrotOS is unique, so consider looking into specific settings for that environment.

It sounds like the difficulties you're having might be related to the limitations of running on X11. Unlike Mint, which is on an older system, you might want to consider using a modern distribution with Wayland for better font scaling options. If you like Mint's ease of use, you might want to check out KDE Plasma desktop environments. They're visually similar and have solid Wayland support that could help with your scaling issues. Have you tried distros like Bazzite KDE for gaming or Aurora for general use? They come pre-configured and should work smooth out of the box.

By the way, if you're not specifically in cybersecurity, you might want to choose another distro instead of Parrot because it’s heavily tailored towards that field and might not be the best fit for general use.
