I'm really in a tough spot here and could really use some help. My iPhone 12 is stuck in recovery mode, and I can't retrieve it without resetting. I didn't back up my photos to iCloud, and I have years of memories with my kids stored on it—losing them would be heartbreaking. It started when I tried to restart the phone to fix an issue with Face ID, but now it just keeps showing the Apple logo over and over. It's asking me to connect it to a computer for a restore, but when I attempted to update it on my Mac, I got an error message (4013). Can anyone offer advice on how to solve this without losing my photos?

It sounds like your iPhone is indeed stuck in recovery mode. Did anything happen before this, like an update or possible water damage? You mentioned it got a little wet, which could be causing issues. Usually, after something like that, a restart can lead to recovery mode if the phone has trouble booting.
Yeah, it seems to have started after the water exposure. The Face ID was glitchy before I tried rebooting, and now it's not coming out of recovery. Such a bummer!
