I'm about to upgrade my setup with a new 1440p, 180Hz monitor (though I'll be using it at 144Hz for now). Previously, I was gaming at 1080p with a Ryzen 7 5700X3D and an RTX 3070. With this new monitor, I want to ensure I can hit around 120-144 FPS. I'm considering a GPU upgrade, and my budget covers options like the RTX 3080, 3080 Ti, 4070, and 4070 Super. Which GPU would be the best choice to pair with my setup?

You might be fine keeping the 3070; it still handles 1440p gaming decently. If you're working with Nvidia for that reason, it's wise to save for the 50 series GPUs instead of sticking with the 30 series.
I sold my 3070 mainly because of its 8 GB VRAM limitation. Transitioning to the AMD 7900 XT has been great for price-to-performance. No regrets here!
The 3080 Ti provides similar performance to the 4070 Super, with just a 5% difference. Personally, I'd lean towards the 4070 Super since it uses less power and has frame generation features.
If I were upgrading to 1440p, I'd go with a 7900 XT and make sure the monitor is compatible. It could be a bit of an investment, but worthwhile for a great experience.
