Hey everyone! I'm having a real issue with my Photos app, which is currently taking up 55GB of storage on my phone. I've gone through and deleted over 6,000 photos, leaving just about 2,000 left, but it hasn't made a difference. I've also offloaded the app and cleared out everything from iCloud, including the "recently deleted" folder. I even restarted my phone, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I would really appreciate any help!

Have you considered deleting even more photos? It sounds counterintuitive, but sometimes that can trigger the system to actually free up some space.
Have you checked if you have the 'Optimize Storage' option turned on in your settings? That might help manage space better on your device.
If you've deleted a bunch of photos, it might just take a little while for the storage to clear up. Try deleting the app completely, leave it for a while (like overnight), and then reinstall it. The system may need some time to process all those deletions.
