Help Me Build a Gaming PC for My Son’s Birthday!

I'm looking to build a gaming PC for my son's birthday with a budget of around $1,200 for both the PC and a monitor. He's really keen on having a white PC with all the ARGB lighting, and I'd like to include a visually appealing water cooler for the CPU. I think we should aim for around $1,000 to $1,050 to keep it affordable, considering tax too. I'm open to buying a used graphics card if it helps improve the build — I've seen 7600XTs and the 3080s going for about $400 in Salt Lake City. Additionally, I need to incorporate an Aorus Wi-Fi card, unless I can find a motherboard with comparable Wi-Fi quality. I'm pretty new to this, and while I've helped build a PC for my other son recently, there's still a lot for me to learn. Any advice would really be appreciated! Thanks!

If you can find a used 3080 for $400, that could be a steal! Just make sure it fits within your overall color scheme; you might not get a white one easily. Also, check out other components that might fit your budget but be cautious about overpaying for aesthetics.

For your build, use a Wi-Fi motherboard instead of an expansion card to keep the aesthetic clean and save those precious PCI-E lanes. Remember, an all-white build might cost you a bit more, so make sure it doesn’t cut into the performance!
