I'm building my first PC and need some help connecting my RTX 3070 FE graphics card to my Be Quiet! 850W 12 M modular power supply. I initially used a PCIe 5.0 cable as suggested by PC Part Picker, but the GPU doesn't fit the extra 4-pin part of that connector. The cables that came with the PSU have pins that are too large for the GPU's slot. I also have a special cable from the GPU with a small 12-pin end that fits perfectly but it needs two 8-pin connectors for the PSU. However, my PSU only has 10 and 12-pin PCIe slots. What should I do? I heard getting a custom cable may be an option, but is that a good idea? Also, does this small 12-pin connector have a specific name?

You need to use the 8-pin PCI-E cables that came with your PSU. Those are made for powering the GPU. Just connect those to the adapters that fit the GPU's small 12-pin slot, and you should be all set! But if those cables are all male ends, you might need to check if that adapter is correctly wired, as they should connect properly. Just make sure not to force anything that doesn't fit!
Yeah, the cables should definitely connect without forcing. If you’re stuck, those adapters can be found online, but double-check the compatibility to avoid future headaches.
