How Can I Set My RAM to 3200MHz on a Non-A-XMP Motherboard?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my RAM to run at its advertised speed of 3200MHz, but right now it's only at 2400MHz. My motherboard is an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, and it doesn't support A-XMP, so if I try to set it to 3200MHz in the BIOS, I get an overclocking failure message. Is there any way to get my RAM to 3200MHz without using A-XMP? Here are my specs: CPU - Ryzen 5 3600, PSU - Corsair 650W +80 Gold, RAM - 48GB HyperX Fury. Thanks!

First, you should check the specific part numbers of your RAM sticks. According to the motherboard manual, you might need to either enable A-XMP or select a profile for your memory to overclock properly. If A-XMP isn't available, consider using the 'Memory Try It!' feature, which might optimize your RAM's performance based on the modules installed.

By the way, having 48GB of RAM is interesting! Just so you know, as far as I know, there aren't any non-binary RAM modules for DDR4, but you can actually combine a 16GB kit with a 32GB kit since most DDR4 platforms support it. I recently did the same, and it's been working smoothly with no crashes!

I had a 16GB RAM originally and then added a 32GB RAM of the same brand. So far, everything seems stable, and I’m even gaming on titles like Star Citizen without any issues. Just make sure your modules are compatible!
