Help! My RTX 3070 Keeps Black Screening During Games

Hey everyone! I recently ran into a frustrating problem with my PC after upgrading some of its components. I bought it used a few months back and it had been working fine, but now I'm having trouble whenever I launch GPU-heavy applications like games. The screen goes black, the fans ramp up to 100%, and I have to power it off manually. Here are the specs:

**Original Specs:**
- RTX 3070 AORUS MASTER 8GB
- Ryzen 5 3600
- Patriot 8gx2 RAM 4266 DDR4
- ASRock B450M HDV
- Some SATA disk and a random 650W PSU

Since then, I've upgraded to:
- RTX 3070 AORUS MASTER 8GB
- Ryzen 5 5600
- MSI B550 A-PRO
- Lexar 1TB NVMe PCIe 4 SSD
- Be Quiet Pure Power 12M 750W PSU
- Patriot 8gx2 RAM 4266 DDR4

Unfortunately, after these changes, I'm facing black screens and the fans going full blast. I've tried a bunch of fixes:
- Fresh Windows install with only essential drivers
- Different PSU and checked all cables
- Undervolting, underclocking, and setting power limits down to 50% using Afterburner
- Testing the GPU in another setup with a 650W PSU and Ryzen 5 3600
- Cleaning the GPU's pins
- Checked all my connections multiple times
- Temperatures seem fine, around 60°C during crashes

I haven't changed the thermal paste on the GPU yet, and I'm wondering if that could be a problem. It worked fine with the old specs, so I'm at a loss here. Any suggestions on what else to try? Also, I noticed a weird noise like coil whine when launching games. Thanks in advance for any help!

It sounds like your GPU might have issues with the new motherboard setup. Did it work on your previous B450 board? Sometimes all that’s needed is a BIOS update, so if that still exists, try checking it again. You could also try stripping down to one RAM stick and seeing if that makes a difference. Also, if you haven’t changed the thermal paste yet, that could definitely lead to overheating problems, which might be triggering the shutdowns. Just double-check the voltage settings in your BIOS too; if in doubt, reset them to default!

Yeah, I got rid of the B450, and I’ve already done the BIOS updates on both new boards. I’ll definitely look into the thermal paste, but would overheating cause it to shut down that quickly? I mean, it barely gets above 63°C.
