Hey everyone! I've finally had enough of Windows and I'm ready to switch to Linux. I want to install it on my old PC to get a feel for the OS, but I've already tried Ubuntu and I'm looking for something different. Ideally, I need a distro that's stable and easy enough for a newbie like me to maintain. I'm particularly interested in one that supports Hyprland and some cool customizations. Here are my hardware specs:

- PC model: Asus k550V
- CPU: Intel Core i7 770HQ
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you're really done with Windows, I’d recommend trying something like EndeavourOS or Manjaro if you're interested in going the Arch route. Fedora is another great option, especially with its various spins like Kinoite. Also, since your laptop has an older Nvidia card, make sure to keep an eye out for proper driver support during installation.

You might want to check out Rhino Linux since it’s based on Ubuntu. If you’re feeling adventurous and want an Arch-based experience, take a look at Garuda, AxOS, or Archcraft, which already come pre-riced for nice visuals.

I hear you on the Windows frustration! For your graphics card, Pop!_OS could be a solid choice because it supports hybrid graphics right out of the box, which might save you from some tricky configurations. It’s user-friendly, so you won’t have to dive deep into the terminal as a beginner, and it’s reliable for daily use.
