Hey everyone! I'm currently using Pay-as-you-go through a Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) and have a supplier managing our Azure licenses. They mentioned that we could receive a percentage discount off the MSRP. However, I'm unsure how to verify if we are really paying MSRP prices or if there's a discount applied. The billing statements and invoices don't show any indication of a discount, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to stick with billing directly through Microsoft. Any advice or tips on figuring this out would be really helpful. Thanks!

Your invoices usually show the prices you're being billed but won’t specify MSRP or any discount applied. To check if you're getting a discount, you can compare your billed prices against the Azure Pricing Calculator, which reflects MSRP. Discounts often range from 2-8%, depending on your usage level, but higher discounts may apply for larger organizations.
You can find your price sheet in the Cost Management section under Invoices. Look for the Azure Pricesheet download. It typically lists both Unit Price and Market Price, so you can calculate your discount using the formula: Discount = 1 - (Unit Price / Market Price). That will give you a clear view of any savings you're receiving.
A good way to estimate your discount is to compare your Office 365 licenses in the Azure Portal with the price the provider charges you. Discounts can vary widely, usually from 0% to 10%. Generally, around 5% is a typical discount per license, but it might be different for your situation.
I appreciate the insight!
If you don’t have a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC), you likely won’t get any discounts on your MCA Pay-As-You-Go plan. To verify, you can use the Pricing Calculator on the Azure website. Log in with the Billing Contributor role to see if your pricing changes when you select your Billing Account and Profile. That will confirm if you have any discounts.
Thanks for the tip!
