I accidentally submerged my iPhone 13 in water for about 10 minutes, and now the screen has become glitchy and almost completely unresponsive. I know it's still powered on because I can turn on the flashlight, but that's about it. Unfortunately, I haven't backed up my phone in months, and I can't access my iCloud account because I don't remember the password and the verification code is sent to my broken phone. I need to transfer my number to a new iPhone 12 Pro temporarily until my new phone arrives. I can't seem to use the phone-to-phone transfer function either. Is there any straightforward way to get my number on the new phone and possibly recover my data? I've heard connecting to a computer could help, but I can't unlock my broken phone to authorize it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You might try connecting your old phone to a Mac using Finder to make a backup, but there's a catch: the phone needs to be unlocked for that to work, and with your screen broken, it might not trust the computer to connect.
If you know your Apple ID info, you could log into iCloud to restore your data on the temporary phone after transferring the SIM. Just be aware that anything not backed up on iCloud from the old phone will be lost.
The easiest way is to just swap the SIM card from your broken iPhone to the new one. This should allow you to use your phone number on the new device right away.
