Hey everyone! I just came across an old Dell Latitude D600 laptop at home. It's got a 20 GB hard drive, 512 MB RAM, and is powered by an Intel Pentium M processor, which I'm pretty sure is 32-bit. My dad's asked me to fix it up for him, and I'm curious to know which Linux distribution would be suitable for such an old machine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, the use cases for a laptop that old are pretty limited these days. With only 512 MB of RAM and an old processor, it’s not really equipped for modern web surfing or anything graphic-heavy. Streaming from sites like YouTube is probably out of the question since the hardware just can't handle it. If your dad mainly needs it for offline use, you could consider something like TinyCore, but it'll be quite slow for browsing the internet unless he’s just looking to do very light tasks.
Wow, so even YouTube is a no-go? My dad was hoping to use it for some light surfing and maybe Google Maps since he loves learning about places.
