Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my graphics card and I'm curious if the RTX 5060 with 8GB is capable of handling 2K gaming. I mainly play competitive games like Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, and Valorant, so I'm not really into heavy AAA titles. Right now, I'm using an RTX 3070, and while I know the performance is pretty similar, I'm dealing with pretty high temps (around 70-80°C) and the noise is really bothersome. Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated! Thanks!

If your GPU is about five years old, it could definitely benefit from a good cleaning or repasting. Dust build-up can really impact performance and temps, so that's worth checking out before considering a new card.
Honestly, 70-80°C is totally normal for full load. If you're worried about temps and noise, have you thought about undervolting your GPU? It can help lower power consumption, temps, and noise without losing much performance. Check out some guides online for your specific model, it might just do the trick!
For competitive gaming, you'll actually want at least 12GB of VRAM. If you're sticking to Nvidia, I'd recommend the 5060 Ti with 16GB or checking out the 9060 XT with 16GB for a better budget-friendly option. Those will serve you better!
Why not consider adjusting your fan curve or improving your case airflow instead? Buying a new card might not be necessary, especially since your current one is still pretty capable!
Yeah, definitely! Don't just skim the specs—look into what those games actually require to run smoothly at 2K. You'll want enough VRAM for future-proofing as well!
