Is a 650W PSU Suitable for My Build with a 3070 and 7800X3D?

I'm considering using a Seasonic Focus GX-650 80+ GOLD power supply for my PC build, which includes an NVIDIA RTX 3070 graphics card, a Ryzen 7800X3D CPU, and an ASUS ROG Strix B650-A Gaming WiFi motherboard. I found the PSU at a great price locally, but I'm wondering if 650W is sufficient for my setup, especially since I've seen recommendations for higher wattage PSU. Any insights would be appreciated!

I would recommend going for at least a 750W PSU for that setup. It gives you a little more headroom, especially for future upgrades or if you decide to overclock.

I did some digging, and a 650W PSU should handle my EVGA XC3 Ultra and the 7800X3D just fine without stressing it too much, according to the specs.

According to NVIDIA, 650W is the bare minimum for a 3070. It will work, but you might get better performance and efficiency with something around 750W. If you can afford it, I’d say that’s a safer bet!

I'm leaning toward the 650 since it's almost free, but the 750 would cost me over $110. Seems like a tough call!

Yeah, I hear you! I think I’ll just go for the 650 then since it’s cheaper.
