Is the RTX 5070 Good for Gaming at 1440p?

I'm considering picking up an RTX 5070 since my 3070 recently died, and the Ti version is way too pricey in my country. Right now, I have a 1080p 144Hz display but I plan to upgrade to 1440p later, especially once I can get either a 9800X3D or 7800X3D. My current CPU is a Ryzen 5 3500X.

I know most people will say the 5070 Ti is better, but the price difference is significant:
- RTX 5070: $857
- RTX 5070 Ti: $1,211.45

I'm not sure the extra $354 is worth it. If you do think it is, I'd love to hear your reasons! Also, since I do video editing, I prefer NVIDIA as I've heard AMD might not be as good in productivity tasks. For reference, the RX 9070XT is going for $1,028.59. What do you all think?

Honestly, for the extra cash, the 5070 Ti might give you better performance, but it's a lot for just a few extra FPS. If money is tight, you'd be fine with the 5070. Just be prepared to adjust some game settings if needed.

Stick with the 5070 for now; it'll serve you well at 1440p. Just keep an eye on the upcoming super versions—it could be worth waiting if you want a little extra power without the hefty price tag.

Do you think the performance difference will be huge between 5070 and the Super version?

The RTX 5070 should handle 1440p gaming pretty well. You might have to tweak some settings down the line, especially in more demanding games, but it's definitely doable. Plus, NVIDIA's support for productivity tasks is top-notch, which is a major win if you're doing video editing.

Yeah, the price hikes on gear are insane! I was shocked at the markup on GPUs here too. If you can find the 5070 Ti at a reasonable price, go for it! But the 5070 will definitely hold up at 1440p in most scenarios.
