Upgrading My PC: Need Advice on GPU and SSD Choices

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my GPU, RAM, and storage as my current setup is starting to feel outdated. I upgraded my CPU a few years ago, and now it's time for the rest of the components. I'm located in Ireland and want to stick to a budget of €750-€850.

I mainly game on my PC, playing titles like Counter-Strike 2, Battlefield 4 (and I'll dive into 6 when it's out), Team Fortress 2, and Elden Ring. I haven't gotten into VR yet, but it seems like my friends are starting to, so who knows?

Here's my current build for reference: [current build](https://ie.pcpartpicker.com/list/rv3gWc).

I'm considering two options for my upgrade:

**Option 1:**
- **GPU:** Gigabyte RTX 5070 WINDFORCE OC
- **SSD:** Lexar NM790 2TB
- **RAM:** G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL16

**Option 2:**
- **GPU:** Radeon RX 7800 XT
- **SSD:** Lexar NM790 4TB
- **RAM:** G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL16

I'm torn between these two setups. Is there a significant difference between them? Do I really need the 4TB SSD, or would Option 1 be sufficient? I'm starting to feel like I might be overthinking things!

The 7800 XT is decent but consider that it will eventually lose support as newer models come out. It has more VRAM than the 5070, but since you're upgrading from a GTX 1080, anything will feel like a massive upgrade. If possible, look into the 9000 series GPUs; they excel at ray tracing if that's something you're considering.

I'm aware that the 1080 is kind of dated, especially since support is stopping soon. That’s why I'm looking to upgrade soon!

If you're looking at AMD, consider skipping the 7800 XT since it's last-gen. The RX 9070 is a solid alternative and offers better upscaling tech, which might be important for your gaming, especially with titles coming out. Just be sure to check the prices—it can be a bit more expensive than the 5070. And honestly, if you want something with good generic support, go for the latest generation cards.

Thanks for that insight! I'll definitely check out the RX 9070, even if it's a bit pricier.
