Hey everyone! We're in the process of purchasing a new server and would love your feedback on our current specs. We're looking at an AMD EPYC 9754 CPU (2.25 GHz, 128-core, 256 MB), with 768 GB of RAM and 8 drives totaling 1.92 TB in a RAID-6 configuration. We plan to use a Graid SupremeRAID SR-1001 controller and have dual 10Gbit networking set up. The main goal is to host Proxmox to deploy VMs for a Kubernetes cluster. Any thoughts or suggestions?

It's tough to say how good your setup is without knowing more details, but you might want to consider switching to a Broadcom/Avago/LSI RAID controller. They're widely regarded in the industry for their support and compatibility, which could really help down the line.
You mentioned that you want to run Proxmox with Kubernetes. Just curious, how demanding are your workloads going to be? It looks like you’re moving from pretty outdated hardware, so are you expecting CPU, RAM, disk, or network stress? Also, is this server a standard commercial model or a DIY build? Don't forget about power redundancy and potential hot spares if that's a concern for you!
Great questions! The workloads aren’t too intensive, mostly for internal services and development, and yes, we are going with a commercial server from Thomas-Krenn. It'll have redundant power but no spare disks.
Running your CI/CD on it sounds like a smart move! If you need any tips on optimizing your CI/CD pipelines, feel free to ask. I'm here to help!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll look into the Broadcom controller options.
