What Should I Watch Out For When Connecting PSU Cables to My GPU?

Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building my first PC and it's going pretty well overall. However, I'm mostly anxious about connecting the PSU cables to the GPU. I've heard some horror stories about people messing this part up and damaging their systems by connecting the cables incorrectly. I've done a lot of research including checking the PSU and GPU manuals, and I'm using only the cables that came with the PSU. I've made sure to avoid daisy chaining and I'm keeping the PSU off and unplugged during the setup. My current specs are:

- CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
- RAM: 32 GB
- Case: Ant Esport Air 211
- Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum v3
- PSU: Cooler Master Gold v2 750w
- Motherboard: MSI b650m Gaming WiFi

I'm trying to install a Gigabyte 9070, and I want to know if there are any specific precautions or steps I should take to avoid making mistakes. Thanks!

You're good, just make sure you're not using the CPU cable for your GPU. It might fit if you really try to force it, but that's a huge no-no! The main issue with wrong connections usually pops up with the newer GPU models where incorrectly plugged cables can overheat and potentially damage the card. Just take your time and double-check everything! Also, remember that the toughest part can be getting the monitor cable plugged into the GPU instead of the motherboard.

Thanks for the tip! I read about the CPU cable potentially fitting incorrectly. Are there multiple CPU cables? I'm just adding the GPU now since my build is otherwise completed.
