I have an M.2 drive currently being used in my laptop that's mainly filled with Steam games. I'm planning to build a new PC and wanted to know if I can just transfer this drive over without any issues, especially concerning formatting or data loss. It would be great if I could just plug it in and have all my games ready to go! Also, if anyone has suggestions for a good M.2 drive (2TB) for my new build, excluding the one I already have, I'd appreciate it!

Absolutely, you can transfer it without any problems, especially since it's just a secondary drive with Steam games. Just make sure your new PC has a free M.2 slot. After you install it, you'll need to point Steam to the new drive to access your game library. Should be a smooth process!
Yep, it's as simple as plugging it in. Just keep in mind that you'll have to tell Steam where to find your games. As for M.2 recommendations, just look for one that fits your storage needs and is budget-friendly. The speed difference between PCIe Gen 3 and Gen 4 is minimal for gaming, so the cheapest option should work perfectly!
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the reassurance!
