Why Can’t I Save a Large File on My Flash Drive?

I'm trying to download a 26GB file from a friend to my 116GB flash drive, but I keep getting an "Out of Storage Space" error. I've confirmed that the file is downloading to the right location, so I'm confused about what's causing this issue. The drive seems fine, but the download stops at 4GB, even though I have around 112GB available. Does anyone know what might be happening?

Don’t forget to check your laptop's internal storage too! Even if you're saving to the flash drive, your computer needs enough space to temporarily hold the file while it transfers. If you're low on free space, that might be the issue. You could try cleaning up files or using a different computer.

It sounds like your flash drive might be formatted as FAT32, which has a file size limit of 4GB. You could try reformatting it to NTFS, but be aware that this will erase all existing data on the drive. Just make sure to back up anything important before doing that!

Have you verified where you got the flash drive? Sometimes people end up with fake drives that are actually much smaller than they claim. To check, try moving a large file (over 4GB) to it and see if that works. If not, you might need to consider getting a different drive.

I bought it online and it had great reviews! I’ll look for a big file to test it out and see what happens.
