Hey everyone! I'm currently a 4th-year computer science student from a tier 3 college and I've been applying for internships, but haven't had any luck so far. Unfortunately, I lack connections for referrals, and my college doesn't allow onsite internships. I'm looking for guidance on how to secure an off-campus internship and improve my chances of getting hired. My skill set includes core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, JPA, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I've also solved 200 problems on LeetCode. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I can relate, I'm also from a tier 3 college. The biggest lessons I've learned are from networking and creating impressive projects. Share your work online, write about your projects, and build a presence on platforms like LinkedIn. In time, you'll create meaningful connections that could lead to internships.
Building a CRUD application or website is a great idea! If you've already made an authentication site with CRUD operations using Spring Security, that’s awesome. Keep adding unique projects to your portfolio—it really showcases your skills!
That sounds fantastic! Any tips on what features you might add next to enhance your project?
Definitely keep an eye on career or job fairs, even if they’re hosted at other universities. These events are perfect for meeting recruiters face-to-face. Also, tap into your personal network—reaching out to friends or acquaintances for referrals can make a huge difference. Stay persistent with your applications!
Networking is key! Consider joining online tech communities or attending local meetups. Connecting with others in the industry can often lead to internship opportunities that aren't advertised.
Thanks for the advice! How can I effectively build my network on LinkedIn? I’ve been connecting with people but feel stuck.
