I'm fairly new to Linux, primarily using it for light web browsing and listening to Spotify. I'm curious about what Linux users typically do with their systems and what essential apps I should consider trying out. Also, I'm wondering which Linux distributions come with the most applications already included out of the box. Is that even a thing?

When it comes to essential apps, it really depends on your needs! What distribution are you using? Most distros provide access to a software repository, but the terminology can differ between them. Just explore what fits your workflow best!
Different distributions offer varying numbers of pre-installed applications based on their target audience. Most user-friendly ones come loaded with everything for typical home use. From my experience, ZorinOS Pro seems to have the most apps straight out of the box. Just check out their YouTube video to see all the applications included! Just keep in mind that having the 'most' doesn't always mean it's the best for your needs; every major distro has tons of apps available through their repositories.
Beginner-friendly distributions like Mint and Ubuntu usually come with a decent selection of software pre-installed, which is a big part of what makes them appealing for newcomers.
I've got Kubuntu installed.
