Need Tips for Upgrading My PC for Better Gaming Performance

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC since I've been having some trouble with frame rates in the new Oblivion remaster. I'm currently running Windows 10 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, 32GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU. At 1440p, I can't get stable frames above medium settings, and I think my GPU might be the problem. However, I also learned that my CPU could be holding me back since it's getting a bit old.

I'm open to suggestions for upgrades, especially for a smoother gaming experience in Oblivion. I'm considering the Intel Core i5-13600KF CPU paired with either an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT or RX 7600 XT GPU. My goal is to reach ultra settings with solid frames, ideally using frame generation or FSR as needed.

I checked my CPU and GPU usage while running the game, and my GPU is maxing out at 100% while CPU usage hovers around 25%, which seems like a clear indicator that the GPU is the bottleneck. My memory usage is also around 85%.

I'm hoping to keep my upgrade budget around $1000 CAD, but I'm flexible if it's needed to achieve my goals. Any advice would be appreciated!

What's your budget for upgrades? It helps to know because that can really inform the best options for your situation.

I'm looking at about $1000 CAD, but if I can achieve my goals for less, that would be awesome!

If you want to keep your current motherboard and RAM, upgrading to a Ryzen 5700X3D could be your best bet. If you're open to getting a new motherboard, consider going for an AM5 setup with a Ryzen 7800X3D, which is around $400, then a decent motherboard for about $200 and 32GB DDR5 RAM for around $90. For GPUs, look into the 5070 Ti or 9070 XT.

So if I want a significant upgrade, I’ll need to change my motherboard too?
