Hey everyone! My 3070 just died, and I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU. I mostly game at 1080p and do some video editing, but I plan on moving to 1440p in the next year. I'm curious if the 5070 is worth the investment considering the VRAM issue, especially since it only has 16 GB. How much of a performance jump should I expect from the 3070 to the 5070? I'm also considering the 5060 Ti or possibly the 5080, but I'm trying to keep it budget-friendly. Any thoughts?

If you want to save some cash, you might want to check out the 9070 or 9070xt. These cards are stepping stones and could save you a bit compared to the 5070.
Where are you finding the 9070 for cheaper than the 5070? I've seen them priced higher by about $50 to $150.
In most areas, the 5070 is often seen as the best value for a mid-range GPU. It's generally up against the RX 9070, which could be worth checking out if you're looking for alternatives.
Honestly, if you see a good deal on the 5070, I'd say go for it! But just be sure about the price first.
Right now, the 5070 is around $741, and the 5070 Ti is about $1,003. That’s a big difference!
For video editing, the jump from 12 GB to 16 GB of VRAM could be significant, so definitely consider how much you’ll benefit from that added memory. The 5060 Ti has 16 GB and might be a solid pick, especially for 1080p gaming and even decent for entry-level 1440p gaming if you're okay with lowering some graphics settings. Also, there are whispers about a 5070 Super with 18 GB VRAM coming early next year, but it’ll likely be pricier than the standard 5070.
Honestly, I’m looking at the 5070 and 5070 Ti too. Sticking to the 70 series seems like a good balance!
Supergrade GPUs usually end up being cheaper, not more expensive, so hopefully that 5070 Super isn't too steep!
How do those AMD cards hold up for productivity, though?
