Why Does My Ethernet Keep Disconnecting When Playing Rocket League?

I've been dealing with a faulty Ethernet cable for almost three years now. It disconnects frequently, at least every three hours, but it gets way worse when I'm playing Rocket League. For example, while listening to a song, I got disconnected twice in just a couple of minutes. This issue only happens during Rocket League sessions and not when I'm doing anything else. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening or how I can fix it without buying a new cable, changing the route, or switching to Wi-Fi? Thanks!

It sounds like your faulty cable might just be struggling more under the load of online gaming, especially with the extra data demands of Rocket League. If there's a lot of network traffic or a weak connection point in your existing setup, it could lead to those frequent disconnections. Keeping the wires as untangled as possible and away from other electronics might help improve stability a bit. Good luck!

That makes sense! I've noticed my connection dips when a lot is happening in games. It's frustrating, but I hope a little tidying can help.

Honestly, if there are pinching points in your current cable route, that could be causing intermittent disconnects. It might be worth looking into for a future consideration. Meanwhile, have you tried using cable ties to keep everything neat? Sometimes just tidying up can improve the connection.

Yeah, I’ve thought about that. I’ll give it a shot and see if it changes anything!
