I just upgraded my setup from an NVIDIA 2060 and a Ryzen 5 3600 to an NVIDIA 5060 and a Ryzen 7 5800X, plus I added another 16GB of RAM. I was expecting a significant boost in frames per second (FPS) for games like Valorant. Previously, I was around 160 - 200 FPS, but now I'm only getting between 190 - 240 FPS. With just Discord and Google open, my CPU is hitting 100%, and I'm unsure why. A friend with the same CPU and a 4060 Ti manages around 400 FPS. I'm worried there might be something wrong with my build or maybe a malware issue. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! By the way, if this isn't the right place to ask, please let me know!

You really should check your Task Manager and sort by CPU usage to see which applications are hogging your resources. This can give you insight into what might be causing the high usage.
First off, double-check that you've got the right CPU model—make sure it’s the Ryzen 7 5800X. One thing you could try is switching your power plan settings. Change it from performance to something else, then switch back to performance. Are both you and your friend running the game at 1080p? Also, what’s your motherboard model? It’s good to check what’s consuming CPU resources in Task Manager when your PC is idle. Restarting versus shutting down can make a difference too. Oh, and ensure your RAM is running at the correct speeds, not the slower default ones.
A CPU running at 100% usage is definitely something to look into. Valorant shouldn’t be pushing all 12 logical cores that hard. Investigate what processes are actually using so much CPU. It’s possible that while you’ve got a great GPU now, Valorant is running into some main thread limitations. The jump from a 3600 to a 5800X is significant, but not game-changing, so you might notice only slight improvements.
