I've been working in my organization, which has always used Dell as our primary hardware provider. Lately, I've been considering making the switch to Lenovo because I've had some frustrations with Dell's hardware quality, pricing, and customer support. Recently, a Lenovo representative showcased their products, and I was quite impressed. However, my boss is hesitant since we've previously used Lenovo and faced a lot of hardware problems—like broken ports and malfunctioning keyboards. Here are my main questions: 1. Are my boss's concerns about Lenovo's reliability still valid? I don't want to end up with a bunch of devices needing repairs just two years after purchase. 2. For those who have transitioned between Dell and Lenovo, how has your experience been? What are the pros and cons of each brand? 3. How is Lenovo's tech support these days? We're okay with handling slightly more service requests if the support is efficient.

We've been using Lenovo for about five years now, and I only buy the T series ThinkPads. We had a few machines with problematic USB-C ports, but the warranty process was really quick and easy. Just refreshed about 30 devices, and so far, they’re all holding up great!
Their warranty process is pretty good. Compared to Dell, issues like loose USB-C ports are covered more readily without needing accidental damage coverage.
Honestly, both brands have their ups and downs. I've had better luck with Dell, but it’s really case-by-case for each organization.
We've stuck with Dell since 2008, and honestly, their reliability is the best it’s ever been! I rarely need to contact support because machines usually outlive their assigned employees. However, my wife’s team uses Lenovo, and they seem to face way more issues than we do with Dell. Her laptops start acting up after around 2-3 years, especially in terms of battery life.
True, you need to be prepared before calling Dell support with a list of troubleshooting steps. It makes everything go smoother.
I switched to Dell about 6 years ago and had nothing but hassle with them. I went back to Lenovo, and I haven’t had laptop issues since! Sure, their docks can fail occasionally, but I'm happy with their devices overall.
Same here! I'm definitely leaning towards Lenovo at this point. Not impressed with Dell's recent quality.
