Does One Stick of RAM Really Hurt My PC Performance?

I just put down a deposit for my very first PC build a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, I accidentally specified only one stick of 32GB RAM instead of going for a dual-channel setup with two 16GB sticks. The build is already completed, and I'm hesitant to invest in another 32GB stick since they're pricey. I'm wondering if having just one stick will significantly impact my system's performance?

You definitely want dual-channel RAM, especially for gaming, because it helps with smoother performance and fewer frame drops. That said, if you can’t change your setup now, give it a try and see if you’re satisfied with the performance. If you notice some stutters or a dip in frame rates, you could look into adding a matching stick later on for an upgrade.
