How to Get My Gigabyte M27Q Monitor to Run at 170Hz?

I just built a new PC and got the Gigabyte M27Q 170Hz monitor, paired with an RX 9070 XT graphics card. Initially, I connected it via HDMI, but it was stuck at 144Hz. After some research, I found out that I need to use a DisplayPort connection to unlock the 170Hz refresh rate. The problem is, every time I connect the DisplayPort, I get no signal. When I restart the monitor with the DisplayPort plugged in, I see an "HDMI 1" sign for a couple of seconds before it disappears. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

This might sound a bit silly, but I had a similar issue once. Try unplugging your monitor’s power for a few seconds and then plug it back in. That worked for me!

I can't believe that actually worked, haha. Thanks a lot!

First, unplug the HDMI cable completely and then connect the DisplayPort cable. After that, remember to set the monitor to the DisplayPort input.

Have you made sure to manually switch the monitor's input to DisplayPort? Sometimes it doesn't automatically detect the new connection and stays on HDMI.

Nope, I just swapped the cables, so I might need to check that!
